In 2000, Mike was one of the founding organizers of “The Largest Tequila Tasting of its Kind in The Southwest,” The New Mexico International Tequila Experience(TM). Yearly until 2003, his powerful public educational shows and tastings were the buzz of the tequila industry.
Seeking the ultimate tequila experience, Mike turbocharged his education by visiting and studying many tequila distilleries in The Lowlands of Tequila and The Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. He has forged ironclad relationships with eminent anthropologists, historians and botanists who consult on all facets of the tequila industry. Among his most treasured friends are several tequila producing families and boutique distillers
To sharpen his tasting skills, Mike was mentored by former members of the Mexican Tequila Academy, as well as by various small-batch distillers. Under their guidance, he has learned to use all of his senses as tools for enjoying and distinguishing the nuances and complexities of the “Spirit of Mexico.”
Intimate Tequila Tastings(TM) was developed to educate consumers on the correct way to sample and enjoy the pleasures of tequila. Promoting and conducting public and private tastings of any size for individuals and corporations, Mike Morales explains the history of tequila, reveals the tequila making process, and dispels the myths that have followed this wonderful spirit since its breakthrough into the United States.
Mike also spearheads White Moccasins Publishing Company focusing solely on the marketing and publicity of start up tequila brands with limited marketing budgets. Specializing in copywriting, direct mail, press releases, viral marketing, mind share, and word-of-mouth campaigns, he has successfully garnered thousands of dollars of notoriety for his clients, and saved them hundreds of dollars in the process.
Extremely versatile and bilingual, Mike is a former Smooth Jazz radio disk jockey. Aside from his duties as a popular morning show host, he conducted weekly live remote broadcasts, and has lent his voice to numerous radio and television commercials.
